Planning Permission and Building Control approval was successfully granted from Mendip District Council for a small rear extension and remodel of this cottage style house in the centre of Street.
The clients required a larger kitchen and living space that opened onto the rear patio and garden. In addition a glass bay was added to bring in natural light onto a new feature stair. The contemporary glass and timber structure works well in contrast with the existing period style of the stone cottage. 3D drawings convinced the planners that this was the right approach rather than their preference to ‘match in’.
