Location: Coleford, Somerset
A new summerhouse in the garden for both living and working.
With good insulation and underfloor heating and a shower room the office can also be used as a self contained guest room for the main house.
The site is positioned on a prominent hillside location and surrounded by a variety of traditional architecture. Whilst a contemporary design the summerhouse will blend in time with the garden and surroundings through the use of natural and sustainable materials such as timber cladding and a grass roof.
Selected for the 2011 RIBA Forty Best Small Projects, launched by the RIBA Bristol and Bath Branch and is now travelling around the South West region, starting at the National Self Build & Renovation Centre in Swindon and then moving onto Salisbury and Bristol for the RIBA Awards for the South West.
