Location: Frome
Client: Private
Project: New Build House
Year: 2011
Planning permission was granted in 2008 from Mendip District Council for a new contemporary house.
It is a restricted and awkward plot in Frome, that previous architects had failed to gain planning permission. Overlooking issues were addressed by sinking the building down a level so it appears single storey from the street scene.
This contemporary one off house will be the focal point of the area, and doesn’t try to ‘match in’ with the many different unimpressive and dated styles in the area.
Building Control approval and tender prices received and construction work started in 2010. Construction works progressing well on site and due for completion by Spring 2012.
