New House, Longleat

Sustainable HouseTitle: Oak
Location: East Woodlands, Longleat
Client: Private
Project: New House
A new traditional stone, render and timber cottage designed and built as a modern sustainable home. The site is fantastic – adjacent to the Longleat Estate it has great views over an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. An ancient oak tree acts as its namesake and focal point of the design and is seen through big picture windows and folding doors. Planning Permission for a new house in open countryside was a challenge but successful. Working with good local builders the house was recently completed to a high quality. The eco house was featured with NASBA at ecobuild and shown at the Bath and South West Homebuilding and Renovating Show.
