A Barn Conversion near Wells in Somerset for private clients
The conversion of an existing agricultural building into a new affordable self build family home in Somerset. Planning consent was successfully gained from Mendip District Council under Detailed Planning Applications and through the National Planning Policy for General Permitted Development Order [GPDO]. The building retains a traditional timber clad agricultural external appearance that conceals a contemporary open plan interior designed for modern living. The new oak timber frame acts as an attractive feature and a generous sense of space is created by high vaulted ceilings. Large glazed areas flood the living areas with natural light and a transparent connection between inside and outside space is created.
